How to Measure

Use the letters on the measurement guide to find each measurement point.

  1. Height Measure from the top of your head to the floor in stocking feet.
  2. Collar / Neck Measure the circumference of your neck with two fingers under the measuring tape, or provide the standard collar size from a comfortable-fit dress shirt.
  3. Shoulder to Shoulder Measure between the two outside shoulder bones.
  4. Back Length Measure from the base of the collar at the back of the neck to your desired hem length.
  5. Chest / Bust Measure the fullest part of your chest or bust, keeping the measuring tape under your arms and around your shoulder blades, with two fingers under the tape.
  6. Waist Measure loosely at the belly button, over a shirt, with two fingers under the tape.
  7. Hip Measure loosely around the fullest part of your hips and rear, with two fingers under the measuring tape.
  8. Sleeve Length Measure from the centre of the back of the neck, over the shoulder, to the wrist bone.

Grace Assistant: Square Neck Surplice for Girls

The surplice is worn over a cassock by altar and choir assistants, falling to around hip or mid-thigh length over the cassock underneath. It's traditionally white, made from a light, breathable fabric meant to stay comfortable through longer services. As a recognizable piece of church attire, it also marks out the wearer's role during the liturgy or choir service.

Fabric and Construction

Made from 100% polyester, this surplice is durable and easy to care for, holding up to frequent wear and washing without losing its shape. It's cut with enough room through the body and sleeves to allow comfortable movement during a service, rather than fitting snugly.

  • Square Neck Yoke: A square-cut yoke drapes over the shoulders, with the cassock's collar showing above it.
  • Pleated Front and Back: Structured pleating below the yoke adds fullness to the body of the surplice.
